About Pop Doctors
Pop Doctors are a 7 piece covers band with a very diverse repertoire ranging from the 1920’s to present day – including the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee, to Rihanna, Jessie J. and Daft Punk, Cab Calloway and Louis Jordan, to Bruno Mars and Paolo Nuttini.
Our repertoire covers many styles – Gentle jazz, Latin, easy listening, disco, soul and rock to name a few. We change our set lists to suit the venue or function providing background music in a smaller intimate settings, or a dance and party night at a larger venue. Or the other way around if you prefer! We also play strict tempo dance music for those who want to quickstep or rumba.
Pop Doctors line up consists the usual rhythm section of guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, with Latin percussion, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes, and a variety of other instruments – even a ukulele! Plus female and male vocals.
Recent gigs included an 18th, a 50th and a 70th birthday, a beer festival, charity gala ball and a dinner dance requiring 2 very diverse sets! We pride ourselves on having a flexible approach which, with our versatility has enabled us to build up a wealth of experience playing in a variety of venues around the midlands and further afield.
